Erev Yom Kippur – 5777

https://www.facebook.com/yedidya.weisel/posts/1445085118839473 My son, Yedidya, shared this vedio on Facebook this morning. I don’t understand all the words but the song and performer are very moving. I remember the day Yedidya and Roi shot  this vedio. I asked Yedidya one day, “So what did you to today?” He answered, “Roi and I had an all day shoot. We followed this performer around all day and shot a vedio. It was a very special experience.” He was very צנוע – tzanuah – modest about it, like it was  no big deal. But for the Mama, it’s a BIG DEAL! Check out the drone shot at the end. They even bought a drone! I thought it was very special vedio to share Erev Yom Kippur. Enjoy! גמר חתימה טובה   Share...

Yom HaZikaron – 5776 – 2016

Just received Whatsapp for the Soldier seriously injured yesterday in a pigua near Hizma. He now undergoing  surgery. Please forward to as many  people as you can. Please pray for שחר בן איילת – Shachar ben Ayelet. This was my 33rd Yom HaZikaron since we came on Aliya. I never imagine how I can have the zichut – זכות – privilege to experience something new and awesome. But Hashem granted one of those rare Golden Moments to my Mom and me yesterday. There are 23,000 Graves of Fallen Israeli Soldiers since the creation of the State of Israel in 1948. An Israeli Soldier stands next to each  grave as the 2  minute “Siren” is heard throughout the country. This year my Mom and I heard the “Siren” as we proudly watched Tzur stand...

Beautiful Words for Bubbie Tobee

Bubbie Tobee   This is the beautiful Eulogy that Ron gave at the funeral of his Mother.   So, what will I miss most about my mom. What I think that I will most miss with my mom are the Divrei Torah that I always enjoyed sharing with her. My mom always enjoyed telling me about the latest shiur that she had gone to, and to relate the message that she got from the lesson. And I knew that I also could always share with my mom some great dvar Torah that I just got excited by and had to share with her. About three weeks ago, the last time that we visited my mom at her retirement home, I played for her a shiur from Rabbi Jonathan Sacks that was about 10 minutes on Parshat Eikev titled The Power of Gratitude – His talk was exactly my mom and she absolutely ate...

Bubbie Tobee Paints a Rainbow

As we were driving into Jerusalem from Efrat there was a beautiful rainbow on my left. I pointed it out to Ron. It was as if Bubbie Tobee was saying good morning. By the time we arrived at Elaine’s, I had a title for a blog. Bubbie Tobee Paints a Rainbow. Bubbie Tobee was always busy painting the world with  her beautiful thoughts and stories. Today she was busy painting rainbows. Hashem gives all kinds of gifts. One just has to know how to receive and slowly unwrap them. Today I unwrapped a special one. This is the wonder I found inside. As I settled myself comfortably in Gideon’s room, I heard the first beautiful sounds of prayer coming from the next room. First Shel started Pesukai Dezimrah. Then the first Mourner’s Kadish. Ron davened...
