The Tree and Gush Katif – TishaBav – Day 29

This is the continuation of “Once upon a time There was a Tree” – refer to the side bar of the blog – categories – Gush Katif. August 2005 – A few days before the Girush -גרוש- Expulsion from Gush Katif. I sat at the bottom of my tree and wrote a story for my grandchildren. It described how a beautiful tree suffered from Lashon Harah -לשון הרע- evil gossip. One neighbor said the tree took his sea breeze. Another neighbor said the tree’s sticky berries got stuck to her children’s shoes and messed up her house. So this tree was uprooted and cast to the side. Gush Katif – a Beautiful Life

I have had a real hard day. I yelled at my boss and my co-workers. I’ve been out right bitchy. I’ve been really angry. And rightly so. There is a war going on out here. There was this beautiful tree that I could see from my bedroom  and living room windows. The tree was a ficus. It was tall and beautiful. It was about 30 years old. In the morning I would open my eyes and it would greet me, waving it’s leaves. My children would wake up in the morning and sit on the couch in the livingroom  and stare out the window and enjoy looking at this beautiful tree. It was so relaxing looking at G-d’s creation. Spring 2002 –  I was standing outside in the back of my house when one of neighbors said. That tree really bothers me. I was like in shock. I thought to myself how can that tree bother him? He...
