Amazing True Story : It Happened in a Jewelry Store…

Amazing True Story : It Happened in a Jewelry Store… Someone special shared this story with me…I’m passing it on to you…. Gmar chatima tovah! A beautiful and touching story that will give us much to think about. The story was told by Rav Go’el Elkarif, a popular speaker for Hidabroot and Kol Halashon, who heard it from the person to whom it happened. There is a fellow who owns a jewelry store in Eretz Yisrael. One day, not long ago, a nine year old girl walked into the store and said, “I am here to buy a bracelet”. She looked through the glass cases and pointed to a bracelet that cost three or four thousand dollars. The man behind the counter asked her, “So you want to buy that bracelet?” And she said,...

A Very Special Moment

Last night we spent a very special evening with my brother-in-law and  sister-in-law, Mindy and Sheldon Weisel. We celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.  What a milestone. 20 years ago when my in-laws Toby and Harry Weisel celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, my mother-in-law had a Chupah made for the occasion. All the grandchildren that have been married in Israel have used the Chupah. If it’s become quite a tradition. The Chupah was last used at Chanan and Shalva’s wedding. We were taking the Chupah to Bill and Phyllis’s for their son, Nadav’s  wedding. When we arrived at the restaurant in Mamilla,  overlooking the old city in Jerusalem, Phyllis and I had a great idea! Why don’t we take up the Chupah to the restaurant...

Erev Yom Kippur – 5776 – Why I Love Living in Israel -part 2

This is going to be a hokey pokey article. I have warned you about these articles before, so for the ones that can’t take hokey pokey, don’t continue reading. This doesn’t happen to me very often but when it does, I am elated. When I was riding in the kolnoit to breakfast this morning the wind was a little cool and the air was crisp. There was something very special in the air. I felt happy when I met people. I said kind words to people. I even kissed a few people. It was like meeting old friends. It was quite special , like a oneness with the people around me. I felt at one with Hashem and Am Yisrael. I have felt like this before on Erev Chag , but it hasn’t happened in a long  time.  It’s almost like you can touch the kindness and...

Erev Yom Kippur – 5776 – Why I Love Living in Israel

I went to work this morning for a couple of hours just to get a few things done. First thing we do when we get to work is turn on the radio. Then I remembered why I love living in Israel. Only in Israel can you hear beautiful songs being played Erev Yom Kippur. I couldn’t figure out how to just record the music so I had to video something. I videoed the the Holiday book that we make for children. We make three books, www.kav-kav.co.il. Here is a small taste of Israeli radio, Erev Yom Kippur, 5776 I hope you enjoy.   Share this:TweetMoreEmailPocketShare on...
